That's something that most of us didnt hear when we had our baby(ies). Some had an early loss, some a second trimester, some carried to term. Some labored for hours only to give birth to a sleeping child. Some had to endure the pain of surgery, a c-section, to deliver their sleeping baby. And sadly, some lost their baby before it had a chance to grow. Some babies spent some time with us, and others did not. In the end we all had a child(ren). Children that we were proud to have and so thankful for the time we did have with them. So I am telling each and every one of you, Congratulations! Congratulations on your little boy, or girl, or twins, or triplets or your surprise gender baby. Im so very sorry that you were not able to keep your baby(ies) with you just as I was not. But a baby is always something to celebrate. Regardless of the end result, they are all blessings.
I wanted to let you know that today, October 15th, Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, I remember not only my sweet Genesis, but all of your babies as well. They all hold a very special place in my heart and I do hurt for each and everyone of those little lives that have been lost. I hope today you find some comfort that they are not forgotten. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and while that is a worthy cause, it is also Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness month. Sadly, pregnancy & infant loss awareness is not as well known as the fight against breast cancer. But we can and will change that. I wanted to remind you that we are survivors too. Most parents wont ever know what we have to go through, but 1 in 4 women will. We have survived the loss of our daughters, our sons, the loss of more than one child... we have survived the loss of our own flesh. We may not be standing, we may not be strong, we may not know what to do or how to go on without our children... but we are still here and we are the voice of the future to make a change in this community. So today I remind you that we ARE survivors.
